This weekend the BeerMap team are meeting up in Coventry to to work on a new version of the iPhone app and website.

We’re hoping to add some awesome features and are aiming to release an updated website and iPhone app early next week. We’ll also be blogging about the event throughout Saturday so check back to see what we’re up to.
If you’re free in the evening, the team will also be heading out to a couple of pubs on Craven Street in Coventry to do a bit of ‘testing’. Feel free to come and join in! You can find out what’s going on by visiting the Facebook event page.
BeerMap Version 1.0 Released! April 27, 2009 No Comments
Today, BeerMap was released to the App Store! You can download it here, and please do because we need as many people using it as possible so that reviews get into the system.
We’re planning to keep improving the app over the coming weeks on both the back end website and the iPhone application. So please do comment or email support@ibeermap.co.uk with any issues which you encounter.
Submitted to App Store! April 21, 2009 1 Comment
We submitted version 1.0 to the App Store today, so it’s just fingers crossed now as to when it will hit the store.
For all you lucky people who download it within the first week, it will be FREE! It’ll also only be available in the UK for a while, we didn’t want people in USA to download it and then not like it because there arn’t any beers in there yet!
So, keep your eyes out for BeerMap hitting the App Store shortly!
First road test… the results April 3, 2009 No Comments

Paul and I decided it was time to road test BeerMap for the first time last night. Well, someone had to try it out didn’t they? We headed to a local area where there are a lot of pubs within a small area so we could really get a feel for how the application worked by trying out various beers in various pubs. We’ve learnt a lot about the app and have already implemented a few of the changes and now we’re on to the 2nd internal beta version.
I’m hoping that we’ll be able to start the public beta shortly, so why not sign up now!
Tactile CRM + Resolve RM – Making Beta Life Easy March 27, 2009 No Comments

We’re are one of the few lucky people who have access to both Tactile CRM and the beta of Reslove RM which is a support ticketing system. Combining the two applications allowed us to very easily manage the beta because contacts are shared between the two.
When you send a beta request to us, Resolve RM handles the emails, files them into a ticket and sends you a nice reply. Matt and I both have jobs so being able to automatically let you know we’ve got your request makes our lives easier.
What’s really awesome is that we can then see your contact details in Tactile CRM, add tags to your record so we know you’re part of the beta and know how’s best to contact you! CRM doesn’t have to be about sales!
So basically we can make sure we’re dealing with your requests quickly, store your contact details securely and save time in the process!
Beta Testers Required! March 26, 2009 2 Comments

Well, we’re almost at the stage where we will be ready to release a working copy of BeerMap! The problem is that we need people to test BeerMap and start reviewing beers. For these reasons, we have decided to open up a public beta which will be ready shortly.
If you would like to take part in this then please email beta@ibeermap.co.uk with your name and city where you live and we will add you to the list of beta testers.
So go on, become one of our “Beer-ta Testers” (Thanks Greg!)

So Many Beers March 24, 2009 No Comments
Isn’t it annoying when you’re visiting an unfamiliar town or city and you know you want beer, you just don’t know which one! Rows of colourful logos are attached to the pumps along the bar, but you don’t recognise any of them or even the breweries! What can you do?!
Well that’s exactly why we are setting about developing the ultimate beer drinkers tool for the iPhone, allowing you to find out what’s good in your area, view what other people are saying about a beer and upload your own reviews so you can remember which beers were good even after you’ve had a few!
At some point soon we’ll be looking for some testers so check back soon or direct message us on twitter (@beermap) if you’re interested.

Welcome to BeerMap March 23, 2009 No Comments
BeerMap is an iPhone app currently being developed by Matt Galloway and Paul Bain.
BeerMap aims to allow you easy access to information about beer, to share reviews, photos and to see what’s going down well around you.
We have had hundreds of ideas about how it might work, and it should be awesome when done! If you want to keep up with how we are getting on, follow us on Twitter @beermap, or subscrbe to our RSS.
